Mindfulness

Mindfulness

Do you ever feel like you’re just going through the motions, or spending too much time worrying about the future or dwelling on the past? Mindfulness is a practice that involves focusing on the present moment and noticing what you are experiencing in a non-judgemental manner. Doing so has many benefits, including:

  • Lowering stress
  • Letting go of unhelpful negative thoughts
  • Decreasing pain
  • Finding joy and peace in the moment
  • Increased connection with others

There are many different mindfulness exercises you can try, including simply noticing your breathing and how your body feels as you slowly inhale and exhale.

It may seem frustrating to find your thoughts wandering as you try to practice mindfulness but this is normal and the very fact that you notice your thoughts wandering is a sign you are, in fact, practicing mindfulness. The more you practice the easier it becomes to focus in the moment and bring your thoughts back to focus.

Mindfulness is a practice that involves focusing on the present moment and noticing what you are experiencing in a non-judgemental manner.
